As I begin this blog to share my personal backcountry adventures and experiences, I thought I would start with a look back on past photos. Future posts will contain current trips, venues, and additional information designed to help others share in the experience.

Slogging Pro Tips: 1. Find an area with little to no opportunity for good skiing. (Bonus if it’s somewhere you have been hundreds of times.) 2. Use plate weights instead of water jugs so there is no chance of reducing pack weight at the top, thus ruining any potential skiing. 3. Make sure there isn’t enough snow to ski all the way back to the car and you are forced to walk. 4. Listen to @iamcardib new album the whole time. 5. Post to social media even though nothing you accomplished was impressive. If done correctly, a slog will confuse your non skiing friends and your most avid backcountry partner. #protips #slogislife
Slog season is going off! Stoked for sun burn, profuse sweating, and incredible soreness. 📷: @shoshanak #weightedpackhauls #slogislife #backcountrydadbod #skiak
